books of English author and illustrator, Beatrix Potter. Beatrix
was born in 1866 and died in 1943.
Her many books with their charming illustrations have helped to raise generations of children around the world, who love to hear her stories over and over.
The first of her books, The Tales of Peter Rabbit, started as a story letter to Beatrix's friend, five year old Noel Moore in 1893. Peter Rabbit was eventually published as a book in 1902 and proved so popular that in the next ten years another fifteen books were published with 23 in total by 1930.
